Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour, plus more for rolling

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon instant dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon anise seeds (optional)

  • 3 tablespoons plain yogurt

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • ¾ cup warm water (40°C)

  • 2 tablespoons melted salted butter (for brushing)

  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Make dough

  1. Mix flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and anise.

  2. Add yogurt, oil, and water. Knead into soft dough.

  3. Let rise for 1-1.5 hours.

Shape dough

  1. Divide dough into 6 pieces.

  2. Roll each into a ball, then flatten into 30x12 cm ovals.

Cook naan

  1. Heat pan.

  2. Cook each naan for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook 1-2 more minutes.

  3. Brush with melted butter.

Serve

Sprinkle with parsley if using. Serve warm
